Is my CPU overheating ?

Hello ,

I think my CPU is overheating and it`s causing my PC to Bsod ( not even showing the blue screen , just a buzzy sound on my headphones , then my PC restarts ) , this happens only in graphical intense games ( Happened while playing Battlefield 3 multiplayer ,World of Tanks , Alien Isolation ) but it doesn`t happened in games like Total War : Napoleon , Shogun 2 , Red Ochestra 2 multiplayer .
Here is the print screen that i took after my Alien Isolation " had stopped working " ( sometimes it says program stopped working , and sometimes the buzzy sound and the pc is restarting )

So what`s the cause?
-my ram memory is checked and it`s working properly
-i have to mention that my mouse "dies" sometimes when my pc gets crashed and i have to manually plug it in again to be detected by the PC (mouse : Sensei by Stellseries)

If you can try with a different PSU if you dont have one then borrow it from someone for just testing .
if the card is stable then either the PSu or the board is defective.
Also do a memtest for ram .

Not the CPu if your PC is making buzzing sound and restarting either it could be the GPU ,board or the PSU.

I think its the GPU

have you OCed any thing then set them to default.

test the GPU with furmark for 20 - 30 min and see if you get any BSOD .

If you get BSOD then lower the card core and memory clock by 100 mhz and see if that solves the crashes.

59 degrees c is not very hot. I wouldn't worry about that. I would try to get more info. Can you get the voltages? Also most often problems like this track down to the graphics card. Try all the usual stuff. Make sure it's clean. Power plugs are in tight. Re-seat it just to make sure about that. Get latest drivers.etc.I would check the real time voltages with a multimeter while it's running the game.

Those temps aren't too irregular for a cpu, but i would recommend more cooling to keep them lower then that. Your CPU wouldn't cause a blue screen to show or even buzzing in your headphones, I think Prir87 hit the nail on the head with this one! It has to be your GPU or PSU, one of them could either be defective or you've warn them out

I've never heard of a Recom PSU. Is it a popular name brand? Always get a expensive PSU because PSU's are the most important parts to any build. But if your mouse dies too then i'd say its your PSU....

What do you use for sound?

If speakers are built into the monitor/TV and audio is being passed over a HDMI cable - I would strongly suspect the GPU.

If you have typical speakers connected via a 1/8" plug to the motherboard - then it could be something wrong with the motherboard.

In either case it could also be the PSU if voltage/ripple is getting out of spec. And after re-reading your part list - I'd seriously be looking at that PSU as the cause - though a voltage spike from it could definitely have damaged the Mobo/GPU, so I would recommend replacing the PSU even if the bsod issue is caused by the mobo/gpu.

So should i go with my PC at an authorized computer service to check the PSU ? And why the debugging concluded that my Cpu bsod my PC?

Ok , so i think i will go with my PC at a computer service to let them check , can i replace my PSU considering i still have warranty ? and another question , why the PSU/Motherboard does that are they broken ?

If the computer is under warranty and they replace the PSU - they will give you one of equal (garbage) quality.

If you replace it yourself - it will most likely void their warranty on the whole PC (if you bought it as a complete PC).

If the warranty is only on the PSU as you bought the parts and assembled it yourself - odds are they will not replace the unit because they will test it, see it powers on, and say it works fine. If you have to ship it back to them you may end up paying shipping one (or both ways if they deem it working/depending on the warranty terms). PLUS you will be without a PSU for several weeks. If this is the case - buy a better quality PSU for $50 as it won't be that much more than one way shipping and you won't be without a computer for a ~month.

have you tried removing every component from the machine, cleaning everything with a hoover and light brush.. clean and reseat the cpu cooler.. it could be something as simple as dust. my mums computer used to constantly switch off after about half an hour.. dismantled and cleaned and problem never occured again. regular dismantle and clean, 3month intervals.. especially in a house with dogs and cats..

Can you recommand me a good psu for my PC ? and btw yesterday when i was playing ,the game crashed (" program has stopped working " ) did not bsod, and after a while as i was watching a video ( 60s or so ) ,my monitor went black but i could still hear the audio of that video ) , and i had to hard restart the pc . What does that mean ?
