I have a 9500 GT and I feel I can get it overclocked farther then 715 (717 in the overlay) and 520 (522 in the overlay) MHz (core and mem).

I tried doing the edit in msi afterburner cfg and nothing. I've tried to use my arrow keys to get it to go farther and nothing. Any ideas? (rivatuner doesn't recognize my drivers so i cant use that even though i've seen it allow 800 mhz core)

I also can't do anything to my volts on the card so even though i've enabled that.

More about : farther msi afterburner

Well I spent a few hours and still am unable to find out why I can't. I tried changing the MSI cfg and the other CFG in the profiles section but nothing.

What do you mean you want to go further? Have you reach your absolute limit? Then the only way to continue progress is by increasing your gpu's voltage (which can damage the gpu if you don't know what you're doing).

That card is largely outdated and being 2014, you shouldn't bother overclocking it. I suggest an upgrade. I also suggest you pump it with as much juice as possible to see how far you can clock it till it blows up :p

And if it blows up my PC? That will be a big waste of $500. Also please please just give me the money so I don't have to wait a few months while I get the money because you act as if it's that simple to just be like "My graphics card is out dated I want a new one *BANG NEW GRAPHICS CARD ON DESK* yay im happy." :\....
Anyways I can't up the voltage because it's locked... (I don't think MSI afterburner even knows how much it's drawing) and yes i'm at the limit of the slider.
Also I quite enjoy instead of playing games at 20 fps playing them at 30 fps so... (and from 40 to 60 and so on)

What games are you playing? if you want to play the latest games there is no point overclocking this card...it's just too old and overclocking wont make a difference...that's what I'm telling you. You NEED to upgrade this card and possibly your entire system. PC gaming is not meant for the light pocket. Budget builds still cost twice as much as a console and that's not including peripherals such as a monitor, mouse keyboard etc.

Your card has a benchmark score of 291.... 291! A GTX 970 has a benchmark score of 9001! Thats 30x more powerful and I have 2 of them! That's what it takes to play latest games at highest settings on a large resolution! Now I know, that is a hefty price I've paid and not everyone can afford to do so but what I'm saying is, the 9500GT is just so outdated you NEED to upgrade to something stronger. You Don't need to go to the extreme I did, you can get a decent card for $250. BUT, your entire system will also need an upgrade (judging by your gpu). I'm sorry tom give you the bad news but you can't play modern games if you're not prepared to upgrade.

You've already clocked your card close to it's limit. I've seen people get the 9500GT to a core clock of 750 and you're already pretty much there.

there is a single 7950 for sale for 100 bucks, you need a new power supply though. the 9800s are voltage locked, i have a 9800gtx_ no voltage control available even then you arent going to see much of a boost maxing the clocks out since its and older card.

its time for an upgrade, a nice used card would make a huge difference

You want to play games? Champ, stuff doesn't come free. Can't expect to not spend a cent on your system and have it last forever. Want the best bang for buck? Go buy a console. Problem solved.

Lol. You said basically "HEY IF U WANT TO GAME ON PC INSTANTLY GIVE URSELF A S*** LOAD OF MONEY AND BECOME GOD!"

OH also you need at least 32 GB of DDR4 and nitrogen cooled computer btw. It shouldn't be hard since giving urself $600 the second something comes out for upgrades is not hard.

Kid, perhaps write it on your christmas wish list. Santa might bring you a new computer.
You need to upgrade your system, I've told you and someone else has told you. Wtf more do you want? It's like you've come here to raise a charity to go towards funding a new system for yourself. Have fun with your absolute complete piece of crap system.

I'll be happy when I get enough money in a few months or so and can upgrade my GPU. Also why would I tell my parents to buy me a computer because my computer is only a year old? Also please explain whats so bad about using an old GPU just because it plays games about 10% better then ur APU's GPU?

You seem to hardcore skim for keywords from what i've seen. You need help sir. That is a problem if u only read words like "Upgrade, GPU, Computer, overcock, and ruin."

a year old pc should have never come with a gpu 6 generations old, if you built it i can see why it could have.

what are your current pc specs?

plus the new amd apus are quite a bit more powerful than your gpu when paired with fast memory

Could of sworn I put this with my thing. Also i'm using this because it is slightly better for games like CoD Black ops etc DX10/9 idk I do know thouguh that its much more supported by older games. Anyways I got it from a friend for free when he got a new PC.
Also with overclock on tf2 etc it runs a lot better.

Technology rapidly advances quickly all the time and as such parts become outdated within a few months they are out. Some game developers intend to push the limits of the very latest technology and as such you require the absolute top tier consumer technology. The Accelerated Processing [Graphics] Units [APUs] that come built into certain CPUs are not designed for modern gaming - that's why graphics cards exist and will exist for a very long time. The latest gaming consoles provide a gameplay experience, graphically speaking, similar to modern, powerful computers but as technology continues to improve they will very quickly become outdated, assuming they already aren't (some people believe they already are but that's what people get for wanting stuff for cheap). Computer companies spend billions of dollars a year to make technology better all the time and they price their products as such so that they can profit on it and continue to do it. The fastest single GPU in the world, arguably an overclocked Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 or GTX 780Ti, costs more than your entire computer and that's the price you pay.

Games will continue to become more demanding on computers as technology gets better and as a result consumers have to adapt to the new tech if you want to try out the new stuff. Nobody says you have to spend a fortune on a computer but if everyone got everything for free then everybody, including you, would suffer. Your computer is old and if you want to catch up to the modern demands in technology then you need a new computer which means more money. Nothing is free in life - you have to earn it.

So in short your basically your saying a medium end apu's suck dick and that I should instead of getting a PC that I can use for what I want and can upgrade to do more then I want I should wait an extra 2-3 years with a PC that can hardly play anything and get a PC that will be outdated in a year or 2?
Also yes... my graphics card was a free X% upgrade so that was free so I broke your rule. Unless you say making a friend and him giving you it isn't free. If you say that then you really... really need help.

Anyways this does not help me at all so lets get on topic. At this point anything off topic will not be replied to and I will just count it as someone is angry that i'm using an old GPU and want to get a little extra performance out of it.
