Okay so I have an MSI GE60 with a Realtek RTL8723AE wireless card which will not work. It was working perfectly fine and then it just stopped. I can see the device in my device manger and it states it is work fine and I can see the wifi bar symbol in the corner but with an "X" in it. I have tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling the driver, but still doesn't work. I have also tried starting in safe mode with network and the device still does not work. While in safe I also attempted to reinstall the driver there, but still nothing. Does anyone have any idea what I can do?

I was going to reseat the chip but if the system recognizes it, doing that shouldn't help, right?

Is there a keystroke combination (typically Fn+a function key) to turn the wireless on? The symbol on the key may look like an old-fashioned radio tower.

My laptop does not have such key, only an airplane mode. I should also add to my original question, I also tried enabling the device in network adapters settings but no matter what the device stays in the disabled state.

I fixed it. Apparently I needed Cisco VPN Client to use my wireless card
