I'm trying to revive an old Windows XP Media Center 2005 PC. The computer is stuck in a restart loop and the HP recovery drive doesn't seem to be functioning (Nothing happens when F6 is pressed)

To further complicate things, the CD drive (one of two disk drives, the other, working one being DVD) is not functional. The BIOS also doesn't seem to support booting from USB.

I'm kinda in a tough spot here, and not sure how to fix this problem that should normally not be too tough to solve... Is it possible to boot a recovery CD from the DVD drive? Which recovery software should I use? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Get a Windows XP disk, you can boot off the DVD easily, a DVD player will read CDs just fine.

The XP Media Center edition was not available for general sale so you may need to look a bit to find a copy. If you get one, you can use the CD code on the computer to activate it once it's installed.
