Hi

I have 4 questions:

1-How many computer case fans can I connect to a 3-pin or 4-pin male connector on the motherboard ?

2-Also if my fan has a 4-pin female connector, can I connect to a 3 pin-connector on the motherboard ?

3-Inversely, if my fan has a 3-pin female connector, can I connect it to a 4-pin connector on the motherboard ?

4-If yes to number 3 above,, do I connect it to any of the 4 pins ?

Thanks

1 - As many as you would like. Within reason of course. Check out Newegg and search for 3 pin fan splitter for some examples.

2 - Yep, but you will loose any controlling that is conducted on that additional pin. The fan will likely always be on and you won't have the ability to manage it at the motherboard level.

3 - Yep.

4 - The plug on the on the MB will have a notch. That will line up with the plug on the fan. If it is a 4-pin you will see the pin on the right side (I think) not connected.
