Hello guys. I'm looking to upgrade my GPU as it is a little outdated. I've been looking around, and I'm very interested in the AMD R9 270x, as it seems to be good bang for the buck. So I want to get your opinions and recommendations. My specs are the following:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5 GHZ 6-core
CPU Cooler: none that I know of
Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-MLX3
Memory: Kingston 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 240-Pin DIMM
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 7750 2GB DDR3
Power Supply: Pixxo Jaguar PW 600Watts

Do you think the upgrade from my HD 7750 2GB DDR3 to the R9 is good enough to make the purchase? do you think I should get the 270 instead of the 270x? And also, I've been looking around in Newegg, and I'm not sure which one to buy. For example, this one is quite cheaper than the others, but I don't know if there's a catch: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I'd obviously prefer the cheapest option, but if it involves some sort of compromise on quality, then I prefer a more expensive option. I hear the XFX cards are great for instance. In any event, I'm not willing to spend more than $190, with free shipping included. Also, do you see any possible bottleneck?

Thanks.

I would get the cheapest Sapphire 270X. That'll be a nice upgrade.

can you wait a few months. AMD is comming out with a new series so the prices will drop when that serie comes out. and I dont know if it's worth upgrading. I dont have an idea about the performance of the hd 7750.

The R9 280 is going to out perform the 270x, from the benchmarks I've seen.

It is cheaper than what you list ($190) by $30.

You could wait until Feb, but that's 5 months away.

Do you crossfire them or two different systems?

If you crossfire, how do you like it?

I crossfire them. They've been great...I have two different brands btw. I have the Asus version and the sapphire version. If I had to go back I would have bought two Asus models. The top card does get a little hot but not anything to be really concerned about.

Great input guys. That 280x looks tasty. The reason I'm upgrading now instead of waiting for the next generation to come out is that they're giving Alien Isolation and Space Citizen along with the card, and I want to get both, so the net cost for the card itself turns out to be affordable.

I just noticed that both cards are very demanding on the PSU, and I'm not sure my current one could cope with it, or even if it has the right connectors.
