I my parents just upgraded the internet speed but now I can't connect to game servers but I can go on browsers etc.

They just increased the speed of the internet and they have told me that they have not put up a new firewall or anything to deliberately lock me out of games, can anyone help me find a solution?

It sounds like you need to open some ports.

What router do you have? Did you receive a new one with the internet package?

Have a look at this website: http://portforward.com/

It tells you what ports to open for what router you have and what games you want to play.
