Currently own an AMD Phenom II X6 1055T.

I'm SUPER excited for the upcoming Assassins Creed Unity. I saw some gameplay trailers and heard that the game supports up to 5,000 NPCs in a single district.

I read a LOT of reviews about the entire 4670K vs 4770K debate, so I do have a bit of knowledge about them, but these reviews are slightly dated and I'm wondering if anything has changed now that next gen consoles are FINALLY out.

At this point, should I get an i7 4770k for $250 or an i5 4670k for $185? I want this to last around 4 years before I consider another upgrade.

If its only for gaming
i5 k is sufficient on your needs.

An i5 is the best option right now if you are just gaming. I would go with a 4690K, though, for the improved thermals. $250 for a 4770K is a good deal, but it isn't worth it for just gaming.

With that little of price difference I would spring for the 4770k if the extra price difference will not eat into another upgrade that you may be considering (such as a GPU). If the price difference will eat into another upgrade then go for the 4690k and you should be good to go.
