I have a DVD=r disk with RW underneath. I'm having a nightmare copy/cut/paste/deleting the pics off it. Ideally I want to delete them all so that I can record over the top, how, if possible can I do this?

The media used must also be a CD/RW, not a more common CD/R.

DVD-R's are write once read many. that means once you've written to it (and finalized it) you can not write any more to the DVD-R. That also means you can't erase them anymore either.

DVD-RW can be erased. I've never done it though. As cheap as blank DVD's are today, I basically just shred the disk to "erase" it, and burn a new one.

You should be able to just format it.

You can't format a DVD-R.

I have unset the Best Answer; the Original Poster should normally be allowed to do this in a still-active thread, especially if it is unclear that a solution has actually been found.
