I'm trying to install Windows XP on a Toshiba Satellite but I get ASPCI.sys BSOD.

I read that its a problem with the BIOS being set to IDE rather than AHCI. The fix was to change this in the BIOS. The problem is my BIOS doesn't support this.

After long frustration I found that I can install a modded BIOS. But its quite difficult. Can someone help me.

My computer is:

Make: Toshiba Satellite C50D-B-120
CPU: AMD E1-6010 APU with AMD Radeon R2 Graphics

HDD/SSD: TOSHIBA MQ01ABF050
BIOS Version: 1.30

best bet don't install xp, its setup to use uefi and xp doesn't support that, and flashing your board with a mod'd bios will likely brick it. your best bet if you don't like windows 8 w/ bing is to get a copy of windows 7 x64 bit and run that. however, have you tried updating to 8.1 update 1 yet? and grab a copy of startisback+, windows 8 isn't all that bad.

also secure boot might be enabled in the bios as well.
