Hello, I was planning on upgrading my graphics card soon, I currently use a GTX 650 and want to play games like Battlefield 4 on good settings with good FPS. I would like the price to be less than 500$, thank you.

What are your other specs. Your CPU might limit your options.

What is the brand and model (not just wattage) of your PSU? What CPU do you have? Assuming the CPU is up to the job, you could buy a GTX970 and a decent 550W PSU for less than $500.

I'll check what CPU I have.

Post your full specs. That way we can help you figure out the best upgrade for your current setup. CPU, RAM, PSU.

Good idea.

Then again, best bang for buck is a GTX 970 which is well under budget and fund a PSU upgrade with the rest if necessary.

All right then, a GTX970 would be a great choice for you. If you need it, there's plenty of money left in your budget to upgrade your PSU as well. A good 500W-550W unit should be sufficient for that card.

That is a decent CPU.

If your PSU is 500w+ i would get a GTX970.

Ok, how do I find out how much wattage my computer has, or what power supply my PC has?

Hmm. The dilemma is that you can buy super excellent GFX for $500, but your cpu will struggle to handle the masses of input for multiplayer. You could also get a super excellent cpu and motherboard for $500 but it wouldn't help with crappy graphics.

Open your case and look at the sticker on the side of the PSU.

look at the paperwork from when you purchased it.

Look up the model of your PC if its pre-built.

:(  What do you think I should do? I don't wanna waste money, but I want an upgrade from what I currently have. My main purpose would be Battlefield 4 probably.

I think you will be fine. Look at the reviews below. The top one shows BF4 frame rate.

That's pretty good, although its for the GTX Titan which is beyond my budget :( . Could you find one for the GTX 970, if so, could you tell me where you find these benchmarks?

There's a good case for gfx over cpu. With practice and experience you can discern how many enemies are near just by how choppy it gets, but while experiencing cpu lag you also lag which directly effects the outcome of a firefight.

The processor is okayish and will have the above quirks so go for GFX with a view to upgrading to a quad core I5 in the future.
