Evening all.

Issue is as title says, recently purchased the soundcard with my new rig (specs at bottom) but can't get any sound to output.

Have tried:

Disabling all other sound devices in 'device manager'
Uninstalling all other audio devices in 'device manager'
    Disabling onboard sound in 'bios'
Installing most up to date official driver
Installing xonar unified drivers specific to d2x
Both front speaker and optical outputs
    Both windows 7 and 10

Still believe it is a software error not a hardware error because:

Seen others list very similar problems online, no solutions have worked for me though
Getting all LEDs from the back of the card (green, orange, pink, blue ect.)
3 different xonar audio playback devices show in 'playback device menu'
Asus Uni Zonar Panel and Asus medea manager both detect the card
    Device manager detects the card
Clicking test in ;playback device menu' gives a 90% full green bar, as if a flat loud signal was playing

Current Rig:
ASUS® X99-S: ATX, HSW-E CPU, USB 3.0, SATA 6 GB/s
Intel® Core™i7 Six Core Processor i7-5820K
16GB CRUCIAL DDR4 2133MHz
4GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 980
ASUS Xonar D2X

Sorry about the essay, just didnt want to waste anyone's time if they had to ask about my setup.

Know its a long shot but if anyone has any ideas id be greatly appreciative.

James.

Might sound dumb, but have seen where a card was installed and user still had the speakers plugged into the mobo's sound socket. Also Many cases have 2 options for the headphone speaker plug on the case reg they are cabled for both analog and digital output, might have the wrong one plugged into the mobo

Cheers for the Idea, sadly I've got it in right I think.

Got a couple of ideas last night, going to give them a whirl this weekend.

Try windows 8.1
Try unplugging GPU and puttin sound card in PCI slot one.

Shall see how it goes.
