So my new set of RAM just came in today. I popped them right on in, everything was fine. I checked my PC info with CPU-Z to find out that my RAM is running at 1333MHz. It should most definitely be running at 1600MHz.

MOBO: GA-78LMT-USB3

The motherboard supports speeds up to 1333 but can reach 1600 when over clocked. My previous set ran fine at 1600 but my new set cannot for whatever reason.

This is the memory support page, and the RAM that I chose is clearly listed on there. It is the sole reason I picked it other than the price.

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) F3-1600C9D-16GXM

So can anyone help me figure out why I cannot reach speeds of 1600MHz anymore?

GO into your bios in the advanced section you will notice that there is an option for ram speed setting. If there is a set to default then click that it will find what kind of ram you have and put it on the appropriate speed. or you can do it manually and select 1600mhz. i had the same problem with my asus mobo.

I did that. When I put it to 1600MHz, it would not boot up anymore and it would only boot at 1333MHz.

Did you manually set the timings and DRAM voltage - if so try raising the DRAM voltage + 0.06 - also raise the CPU/NB voltage to 1.23
