I attempted to upgrade my stock CPU cooler today with a GAMMAXX 400 120mm cooler and Arctic silver 5 compound, it was my first time applying thermal paste or changing a cooler, but I watched several Youtube videos on how to do it and did it very carefully and took my time, I also practiced good ESD prevention by keeping the PSU powered off but plugged in and touching the outside of the case to ground myself. The only issue I had was the new cooler seemed to fit very tightly against the motherboard and took a but of force to mount, which leads me to believe that I bent my MOBO, so I took it out and inspected it thoroughly, no visible cracks that I can see, although I am aware damage can occur that isn't visual Used 70% no lint alcohol wipes to clean off old compound. I also inspected my pins on my CPU, good as new, I'm suspecting either PSU (Doubt it) But most likely I bent my MOBO and broke something or ESD that I didn't detect. Any suggestions? Or did I answer my own question? Thanks.

First of all. Your machine does not need to be grouned. To prevent esd you connect yourself to the case, this is called
Equalizing the potentials in the electronics field. You have the power supply cord unplugged from the wall for safety.
That way you know the computer is of. There will be no electrical accidents while your hands and digits are in the machine. This is Computer Tech 101. And is confirmed by Electrical Professionals. The next question is does your
computer start? Also I would invest in an anti-static wrist strap. It is easier to work inside the computer with two hands.

The only thing that happens is the LED's on the front and all the fans go on for a split second before going back off.

You need to recheck all your connections just for kicks.

Done, several times over, also changed wall sockets, (worked in the past). Currently I have my motherboard out and inspected for visual damage and there is none. Possible a PSU problem or did some ESD get to it? Or did I unknowingly bend the MOBO?

The mobo can take some bending. You will almost never know if it is Esd. You may have to start changing out parts. .
Get a power supply tester. Or get it tested.

I'm definitely leaning toward PSU at this point, it's done this before after just dusting it out and plugging it back in..

Like I said test it. Don't just go buy one unless money is not a problem.
