You have an APU. So just overclock and stay with it. Or you can upgrade the CPU along with a graphics card. But you may need to change the motherboard if the new CPU has a different socket.

And yes it is a bottleneck I believe. APU don't go well with another graphcis card.

MSI has terrible QC. Try Asus, ASRock or Gigabyte. Do you have a budget for the upgrade?

Not really a budget but just looking at the microcenter.com intel/motherboard bundles for it. id say my budget is like $430

Don't listen to everyone here. A Computer is a General-Purpose machine. There is not ONE single task assigned to it.
It will depend on which games you play. The games that are more Graphic Intensive will probably not be bottlenecked, Those who are very CPU-Intensive will be bottlenecked.

The PC changes with what you do, not the inverse. You can never change what a Computer does.

Try an i5-4690 and a H97 motherboard. They might not be a bundle.

Furthermore, I don't think a Phenom II x6 will be bottlenecked by a gtx 780ti. The A10 6800k is very similar to it.

Well i have a gtx 780ti and im getting like 30-40 fps in battlefield 4 multiplayer on ultra 1920x1080 p so im just assuming that the amd apu a10 6800k will be the cause of that bottleneck.

I made a build for you.

@theprskx2 do you believe in bottleneck?? And what a Phenom with a 780Ti?? Prove evidence it will perform well in current intensive games.

battlefield 4 is maybe not the most cpu intensive game. but that CPU is bottlenecking in this case. he wants to play new games on high settings. then update that CPU.

with CPU, i ment the APU.

Did you try other games?
SSAA and V-Sync can seriously deteriorate a game's FPS.
Also, is your CPU always running at 100% during a playthrough?

you cana lso chose for normal aircooling£. it's cheaper, and the h100 that ot suggested is overkill if you're not going to do serious overclocking

Might as well say that an Intel Core i5-2400 Bottlenecks the 780ti then.

^What do you mean OP? What are you referring to? My build I recommended. A i5-4690K, H100i and Z97-A.

Edit: Yes use the CM Hyper 212 Evo. It fits with an LGA1150 socket if you do upgrade to the i5-4690K and Z97-A

okay but yeah since id be upgrading from apu to cpu might aswell go for the 4790k imo :p , as far as the motherboard what is wrong with the msi one? it seems to have good reviews

In my honest opinion, I think of this as a big waste of money. If you just got that CPU, stick with it. But if you already wanted to upgrade since a long time ago, go for the i5, its value is pretty good right now, especially if you get a rebate! As for the motherboard, if you do not intend to do some serious overclocking, don't fall in the MOBO Gimmick war. The redundant features such as USB Boost or Ethernet Boost are all gimmicks.

The FX-8320 is also a good choice if you want to go for the cheap. A mobo-cpu combo can be found around 199$.

Hope it helps,

when you say big waste of money do you mean that i wouldnt see any fps difference?

those MSI motherboard problems are in the past now. it should be a perfectly good working motherboard.
QC stands for quality control by the way. but you can go for other cheaper motherboards aswell that will perform just as good.

then the i7, if you want to spend the money...you can go for it. but the i5 will last you quite a while and you wont see any fps differences compared to the i7.

and like bloc97 said. you can also go for an fx 8320. I use an fx 8320 and it's more then good enough for gaming. the i5 4690k is better and will give you more futureproofing though.

If I was in your shoes, I would get the build that I recommended. Great CPU with a great motheboard (for overclocking) and CPU cooler.

If anyone have any objections with that please tell me.

You should see an increase in FPS, but if the problem lies somewhere else than the bottleneck, im afraid that you could waste money.
It would be stupid to use 300$ to then notice that you had a malware or installed the wrong drivers, etc.

We should be focusing on the problem instead of concluding immediately that its an bottleneck.

Best is to run your malware program. Norton is the best IMO. But it doesn't come free.

As theprskx2 said earlier, you should check the CPU usage while doing nothing, then when playing battlefield 4.
If it's at 1-10% when doing nothing and maxed out when playing a game, then the bottleneck is confirmed.

If its 60-80% during a BF4 session, the problem lies somewhere else.

Don't worry, You can go to task manager. There are three ways, choose the easiest for you :

1- Hold CTRL+ALT then press DELETE, then click on Task Manager, Performance Tab.
2- Hold CTRL+SHIFT then press ESC, go to Performance Tab
3- Hold START BUTTON then press R. Type in the box : taskmgr.exe , then go to Performance Tab.

In that tab, you should see multiple Sections, one for your CPU and one for your Memory. CPU usage is in %, so is the RAM.

Actually heres another clue, my Nvidia geforce experience has that optimize games thing correct? well it says i have my gtx 780ti up to date and everything BUT the "optimal settings are all practically low. I dont believe that a 780ti would be optimized on bf4 on low wtf

Try checking the CPU usage first, then we can go on verifying the integrity of the GPU if the CPU isn't the problem.

on idle just on firefox, and skype its at 54% cpu like is that even normal

That is not normal, even for a dual-core CPU.

Try using CPU-Z, then tell me the CPU Clock (in MHz)
You might be victim of AMD Cool'n Quiet downclocking the CPU.

There is no way skype uses 50% of the CPU unless you're on a single core pentium.

Don't worry, if you got the money, upgrade the CPU and Motherboard. You won't need to reinstall everything as long as you don't touch the hard drive.
Reinstall the drivers when finished upgrading.

Even if the problem still persists, you have a better CPU! Im pretty sure the problem is software-based, so you can fix it whenever you want.

Best luck to you,

You may loose it. Do you have an OEM version of Windows because you can' transfer it. If you have the retail copy, then call Mocrosift and it will provide you a product key over the phone.

So which motherboard and CPU?
