Hi experts, im experiencing a strange problem on my windows 7 64bit laptop.
While working on my PC for several minutes when i click/open "My Computer" it keeps searching for my hard drives non stop (endlessly). I have a external drive Seagate and it runs well. I am able to browse the Seagate external and play music, etc... but this issue even happens when I have the external drive unplugged from my laptop. It just keeps searching non stop.
However its not freezing or hanging up and i can still open my drives/folders using run command and after sometime it will work just fine again.
Thanks in advance.

Is there anything plugged in like a card reader / memory card or flash drive?? It looks like this slow loading can be caused by something thats plugged in and its faulty.

Try this

Right mouse on the external / general tab. Untick indexing, that may help
