Hello, all. Long time lurker and I like how everyone is here. I need some help/expertise if you all could oblige me.

I recently bought a very nice machine from someone locally that has an EVGA GTX680 in it and I hooked it up via DisplayPort and an EVGA DisplayPort Hub to three Dell U2412M monitors that are mounted on my wall. The setup looks super clean and I am really happy, but the problem is that these monitors don't support audio through the DisplayPort, HDMI, or the DVI ports on them.

The onboard audio, while enabled in the Asus BIOS, seems to be non-functional when any graphic's card that can carry audio is plugged in.

I need some way of getting my audio that doesn't involve purchasing three new monitors that support audio through DisplayPort. I know this might seem like a ridiculous question, but is there any way or any adapter that makes it possible to isolate the audio channel of either the HDMI or DVI-D and get that to a speaker/3.5mm plug?

Thank you all in advance for anything you can suggest.

In my device anager I already have disabled any NVIDIA audio devices and the only thing left enabled is "High Definition Audio Device" but it says nothing of Realtek or Azalia (the Asus name for the onboard audio). In the Control Panel under Sound it has the Speakers selected to "High Definition Audio Device" and I do have the volume icon in the tray but no audio still. Do you think it could be a driver issue since it is just showing up as a generic "HD Audio Device"?

EDIT: I uninstalled the generic "High Definition Audio Device" and restarted, then downloaded and installed the Realtek HD Audio driver package from Asus for my MB (P9X79). I installed that and restarted and everything was recognized in the Device Manager but still no audio. Instead of disabling the NVIDIA Audio in the Device Manager should I just simply uninstall it?
