So im just in the process of overclocking my 4690k, and while I seem to have a stable overclock at 4.5ghz 1.20V vcore, cpu-z is reporting VID of 1.20 but Vcore of only 0.96 (which i think was stock voltage) While stress testing, Vcore moves around a bit, but only in the 0.93 to 0.96 range. I doubt thats the actual voltage supplied or OCCT/p95 would be crashing at 4.5ghz, right?

From what i've read VID is like a stock voltage, and you can change vcore from there. But it seems like when i change vcore in BIOS it's actually changing VID.

EDIT- as I was typing this while OCCT was running I had a crash, so not stable. I can't help but think that this has something to do with cpu-z repoted vcore of 0.96V

Help!

oooh I think problem was an older version of CPU-Z. But i still wouldn't mind a quick explanation of the voltages, as VID doesnt seem to be as static as I've read it is..

Edit: Latest CPU-z reports Vcore of 1.20V but OCCT still report 0.96V for Vcore, with 1.20 for VID. I really am confused....
