Hi,
First, sorry for my bad english..
Now, my oncle gave me his Yagi antenna. one of my neighbors give me the autorisation to connect to his network to my chalet. So i don't capt the signal from my home and I can't install the antenna at his house. I was asking myself if I could put the antenna at my chalet and use it to receive the signal. After I could connect it to something like this: http://antenna

And plug it in my computer. So I wanted to know if that system could work and if no, what could I do because I don't know how I need to know.

Thank you very much and don't hesitate to give me other setup solution. Thanks! :)

Solution
You can but it will be hard to troubleshoot. It tends to be complex sometimes to get a repeater to talk to the main router. Maybe go over to the house make it work in the house and then go back and try the larger antenna after you are sure the repeater part is configured correctly.
You will need special microwave cable with the proper connectors to connect between the antenna and this device. To make it work you will likely need to place the antenna outside. The cable you want is called LM600. The actual connectors on the end will depend on the brand of antenna, it likely takes a N on the yaggi end and rp-sma on the adapter side but you need to verify this.

It will be much simpler to buy a device designed to do this. Something like ubiquiti manostation Loco M2 or engenius ens200. These combine the antenna and the electronics into a single waterproof device and you can run cheap ethenet cable to connect. There are many other options from both these companies if you need more distance.

No matter which method you pick you need to be able to see between the location with no trees or buildings in the way. If you are going more than a few 100 meters it likely will not work no matter what equipment you use. The signals are so weak you need outdoor directional antenna on both ends when you need to go any significant distances.

Thank you! The thing is that I already have the yagi antenna so I don't want to buy an other antenna. The antenna has a n connector and I'm pretty sure that the device is in rp-sma. I was not just sure if this solution could work. Also, if you now how I could receive the signal and give it in wifi to all the chalet it will be great. But if my solution can work it is a good beginning.

For the range, there is a house between me and my neighbours but I saw I good big part of his house. But Yagi antenna could to a lot of range like many kilometres so this will probably not be a problem.

Thanks a lot!

PS: So if you could just confirm me that it's ok and maybe give me an other solution to give wifi to my entire chalet. Thank you! :)

You will need a cable similar to this. This is only lmr400. LMR600 is better but even more expensive.

The range number you see on yaggi assume there is a yaggi on both ends. When you are trying to get the signal though walls and other obsticals there is no way to predict if it will work.

The only reason I recommend other solutions is you are going to pay almost as much for the antenna cable as a new antenna/bridge

But I could use a shorter cable and plug it on a extender of network that will give me wifi in my chalet, right? I don't know what module to use... If you know how is called it will help me, thanks :)

Ok good, so I think I will go for that, the antenna on my balcony with the shorter cable, the wifi adaptor and then use a usb cable.

Now I found this: http://wifi range-boosting
Could I plug my antenna on this and then connect it to the wifi of my neighbours and I will get the wifi all over my chalet?

If not I will use the wire solution but I will only be able to have internet with one device at the time. Thanks
