I'd drop the GPU frequency of the faster card down to the same speed as the lower card though.
Why?
SLI works by using a technique called "AFR" which stands for Alternate Frame Rendering. The first card renders a frame, then the second card renders the next one then it repeats.
If one card is faster than the other then the frames won't render in equal times. They rarely do exactly anyway but just make sure there's no large gap in GPU frequency between the cards.

I'm not set out to do this, I currently have a SC 780 and have a opportunity to get a 780 classified for cheap and I wasn't completely sure if SLI setup it work. They are not too far apart in frequencies and same architecture so I had a hunch it would.
