I'm seriously at my wits end guys and need help. I use open broadcaster which was working fine until today. O use game capture mode and works with every game flawlessly apart from dota 2. It just keeps crashing dota and I just don't know why. I have uninstalled completely and reinstalled to no avail. It was working fine yesterday but today I boot up go to stream and OBS and dota have fallen out so to speak. Please help me guys. Windows 7 64 bit and used both 64 and 32 bit OBS and get the same problem.

I tried google bit as I said every game apart from dota 2 works fine. Not a black screen but I start OBS to capture in game capture mode and dota stops and freezes. It just cane from nowhere as was fine yesterday.

So you saw " I realised i could try window capture + borderless window mode. Works perfectly! I can even turn the game off and on again and the capture will recover itself."

Yeah but the performance isn't as good as game capture mode. Which is what I'm asking for the solution. Thanks for trying to help me though it is appreciated. Just don't get why I come to use it today and it doesn't work but was yesterday.

I haven't come across anyone using obs before here. I think you're better off looking through their forums.

OK I solved it guys if anyone else has the problem here is how I solved it. I use razor synapse and there was a hook that gets games first and prevents OBS from capturing it through game capture. I deleted the hook which I found in the installation directory and actually called game hook and deleted it now all is fine. There are a lot of software where the overlays or hooks they use interfere with capture software like OBS I was not aware Razer would be such software but goes to show, if you look at everything you'll find it could be the most trivial thing. Take care gamers and thanks all for your help

If you have nVidia graphics, try Shadowplay instead.
