Yes it is still a great socket for now. You can overclock the i7-2600K or the i5-2500K to a pretty decent speed. But when more higher range graphics card are released in two years time, then it may bottlenck the CPU if you plan to get it.

You'll want a Z97 chipset board if you can. Its able to run three generations of LGA 1150 processors.

But if you're not going to upgrade for a few years, Z77 will be just fine. Performance wise they are not very different, just that newer chipsets bring newer better features.

You are asking about to buy a Z77 system?
Here is my opinion:
Well, Z77 is not yet that bad for gaming especially with the i7 2600k or i5 2500k but if you wanna buy/build a new rig, get better the Z97 platform since the procs are newer+faster, has potential compatibility to Broadwell (not yet 100% sure about the compatibility to Broadwell tho') and also has more features.
However, if you can get a second-handed Z77 rig with really attractive price e.g. from eBay, I would not reject it.
The decision is yours now.

This is something to talk about more with your friend because we don't know much about what has happen and planned.

But Internet Cafe may not be as popular today IMO. Most people have their own builds for gaming and everything else.

I dunno if internet cafe can still bring profit.
Everyone has now smartphones, tablets or even their own PCs/laptops.

Back to the topic:
If you wanna run an internet cafe, you might want to pull your electrical bills down as much as possible.
Going Z97+Haswell is your best bet right now.

He probably means a PC gaming/general purpose internet cafe. Many computers with games and customers pay to use per hour.

But yes low power consumption will still be relevant. Also Intel processors fare much better with the stock cooler even with moderate OC, even better if there is air conditioning. So that will help with cost savings.

Overclocking = Z97, not overclocking = H97. I run a Z77 motherboard and it's still fine and I don't have any plans to upgrade until Sky Lake. If you're building a new rig, go Z97.

If it is not a gaming PC, then you don't really require a graphics card. But the GTX 750Ti is a low to mid range graphics card.

If you get a H97, I presume you are not overclocking?

Then the 750 Ti will do just fine. The i5-4430 is a very cost effective processor for games. It will work on a H87/H97 motherboard.

OC is never really an option if you want to open an internet/gaming cafe.
The power consumption will be high and you must pay more on the electricity bill.
I am voting for i5 4430+H97+GTX750Ti.
This should be very effective for such needs.
