So i have the :
-asrock 990fx extreme 3
-fx 6300
-ram 8gb
-gtx 750
and i would like to upgrade my cpu and motherboard to:
-i5-4690K
-MSI Z97 Gaming 3 or MSI Z97 Gaming 5 (You can recommend me another motherboard if you want)

MSI is was the cheapest i could find in "centrecom.com.au"

I heard rumors that MSI has bad QC. Could you please tell me what "QC"?
I'm not really good at computers.

I guess i need windows 7 once i got all my parts

Thanks

QC means quality control, and yes MSI are not the best at it. Heatsinks quality is a major issue. Also, as per title, yes you can use your old HDD. If that has Win7 already installed, you may download an ISO, get the key from current OS and install it again on new build.
Also, for MoBo, this is excellent OCer, very respectable quality and a go-to MoBo for quality gamers:

^I'd recommend it over MSI G3 or G5.

QC means quality control. I don't think MSI is that bad. It really depends on what you buy from them.

Those boards should be fine. You can return if defective.

You can keep your hard drive but you will need a new Windows license key when you switch the board. Also to install new drivers for the new hardware.

Both of your answers were great
But does the asus z97 a atx support i7 4770K really well aswell
and are these the different options"If that has Win7 already installed, you may download an ISO, get the key from current OS and install it again on new build." and ISO meaning
Sorry this is all alien to me, but i'm very passionate in it xD
Thanks to both of you for these awesome, quick reply.

Yep, Z97 A is plenty for the CPU, feel free to pick it above MSI. Also, I meant, if currently you have the Windows OS, in your build, you can reuse it on the new build w/o having to buy a new key, as long as you don't use both builds simultaneously. You have to download an ISO file of the version of windows that you have (Like Win7 Ultimate x64), burn it to a disc, source out your product key from the current build (using Magic Jelly Bean), and install the OS again on the new build, you might need to get it reactivated if its OEM, Retail would be just fine.

I've got an MSI graphics card. I haven't had any issues with it. I'm hoping to upgrade soon and I'm going with the Gaming 5. The main difference between the gaming 3 and 5 is that the 5 is SLi and crossfire. So if you want to SLi your 750 you will need the gaming 5 as the 3 only does crossfire.

If you are going from a AMD 990FX chipset to an Intel Z97 chipset it's always best to do a fresh install of Windows. You don't have to but your PC will run a bit smoother if you do.

Hope that helps

So I already have windows 7 on my previous build and i still have the disc and the key that i installed it with. But can you you use the key only once?
and what does ISO mean?

The ISO is basically a digital image copy of Windows, for the purpose of burning into a bootable DVD/USB drive so that you can use it to format/install Windows.

You won't need that since you have the original disc.

If you don't intend to reformat and make a new installation of Windows, all you need is to reactivate the same license key or use a new unused one.

Get the MSI Gaming 5

Why?
Is it good with the i7 4770K?
And is it good for recording gameplay?

Its a more gamer oriented board.

Both boards will run the i7 4770K just fine. The motherboard generally doesn't affect recording performance.
