It depends if you're going to overclock the FX 6300. Will you be overclocking it?

This isn't really an answer to your question, but its a suggestion I'm going to make anyway. lol

If I were you and tigerdirect was an option, I would consider an FX 8310. Its only a couple of bucks more than the 6300 and it will be more future proof, however you would need to buy a CPU cooler since its OEM and doesn't come with one.

Feel free to completely ignore this comment if that either doesn't sound appealing and or is not an option. lol

But by the way, what CPU cooler? Is it PSU?
Also will it work fine with a 450 W PSU?
Please explain

Something like the CM 212 would be more than sufficient (and from my experience with AMD stock coolers, you probably want to get something like this anyway even if you decide to go with the 6300).

However the PSU question, I don't have an answer for you. I always tend to overshoot just to be on the safe side so if it were me I would probably make sure I had 550-600. But again I tend to overshoot, so someone else can hopefully better answer that question.

i3 haswells are stronger in about most games there are. And the money you spend more on the cpu, you save on the mobo and your elecrticity bill.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i3-4130 3.4GHz Dual-Core Processor ($109.98 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: Asus H81M-D PLUS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($44.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $154.97
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Consumes very little power, a 450w psu will be plenty.

Some benchmarks:

Intel is good with future proofing. I have an i3 4130 and I'm on my way buying an i5.
