If the GPU bumps the HDD frequently or vice versa, it MAY cause minor physical damage.

The GPU moves like 10mm and it touches the ram plastic noches (whatever u call it lol) and the HDD touches the GPU's plastic cover.

You shouldn't have a problem unless the force of the impact is strong. You might not have secured your GPU properly.

Remove the HDD cage if possible and install the HDD at any other available slot. Vibration is both components may cause damage in long run.

You definitely don't want it to be touching. Perhaps upload a photo and someone can suggest a better place for you to mount it.

if that the inside of your case your using the wrong video slots. the main video slot and the sli/crossfire slot should line up to the open bay area if you put the mb in the case right :)

What's this have to do with the gpu touching the HDD?

If this is infact your case, there are HDD cages to the bottom left.

I got the lighting 780. Its not touching the metallic side, its touching the end of the card which is plastic. Its running very good now. I have Core 1300 Fractal Desing mAtx case.

This is from fractal design website:

"HDD trays split into two cages and strategically positioned with a large space in between to support all long graphics cards up to a maximum length of 380mm, with all hard drive trays in place"

Length of your gpu is 295mm so it should not touch with the HDD or any of its border.
