Hi.

I just got a bare bones Lenovo ThinkServer TS440. I have purchased Crucial 16GB RAM and Seagate 3TB for it already.

I just have some questions regarding display:

1) Looking at the specs of the TS440, it seems that there is no on board sound. Am I right on this?

2) I ask because I want to have the display and sound be in my TV via HDMI. Do I just purchase a video card that has HDMI output?

3) Mostly I will just use the machine as a high end workstation with A LOT of windows (MS Office, Chrome, Acrobat, etc) open simultaneously, and watching movies. Am I right I only need am entry level video card? Or should I go for something like the MSI R9 280?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks cowboydude99.

Just a follow up. In case I see a nice deal on a higher end video card (so far my only example is the MSI R9 280) and I am willing to spend for it:

1) Will having that better video card improve performance in video playback (and audio) of movies when it's outputted by HDMI to my tv?

2) How about when I have a lot of windows open with a video playing on the side, will it help improve performance during normal switching between windows, working on MS Office files, etc?
