Which option to choose? Laptop or PC setup for SATA hard disk

I want to copy my files from my HP 4520s laptop, which is not working now. I have a Compaq laptop with me as well as an old desktop PC. Which method should I use to copy the files safely?

use the pc ... if you were to connect a sata hdd to a laptop it would mean that you have to pop the back open and that could lead to unnecessary problems.. best you use the desktop to copy the files safely ...hope i helped you
