Hello, i am in a dilemma, i am upgrading my rig in order to run far cry 4 in 1080p with at least 60 fps. should i get a Gtx 780, 780ti, or something from the 900 series? Thanks in advance

More about : gtx 780 970

Something from the 900 series, cheaper, more energy efficient, more powerful, doesn't need much more explaination. GTX 970 caps 780, 980 caps the 780 Ti.

GTX 970, it already beats the 780 and if you get a 750w PSU or greater you can always SLI later if you want extra performance.

780/780Ti are no longer in production. The 970 replaced the 780 and the 980 replaced the 780Ti, respectively. Depending on your budget, the best single GPU card on the market right now is the 980. I recommend the Asus Strix to be exact.

do you think is it can handle FC4 on 60 fps?

GTx 970 still holds against even 780 Ti, more VRAM is only better, and the second monitor won't decrease any performance anyways. You may even SLI down the road (850W is plenty, provided its decent quality), if you have SLI capable MoBo.

Haha, the 970 does not have more performance than the 980, why would they come out with the 980 if it wasn't better? Sure the 970 comes close when overclocked but it's not the same.

Don't know recommended specs on FC4, but the 980 will almost definitely hit 60fps 1080p

edit: I am quite confident the 970 will reach 60+fps on 1080p, with AA off or a couple other settings turned down. The 980 will definitely reach 60+ FPS.

I don't get it, 10% performance boost with 980 over 970 and 50% more in price, I'd SLI 970s in that budget which throws the 980 out of the water performance wise. There's something called 'value/money', where 970 is miles ahead of 980.

And if a person is willing to spend more money for that much performance, let them.
