Hey guys,

I need some help on choosing an Intel "Devil's Canyon" CPU. Which is better for my situation? The i5 4690K or 4790K?

I plan to play Steam Games Like Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike: Global offensive, record some of my gameplay via Bandicam, Video Editing through AVS Video Editor, and Upload the videos to YouTube.

Is it worth the $340 Investment in the i7 4790K? Or am I better off saving $100 by going with the i5 4690K?

Thanks!
SoundFX09.

The games you play are not much CPU intensive, i5 would be plenty for recording while playing, and rendering/editing the videos, I don't see the need for extra $100. i7 will be better obviously, but how much? Maybe a couple of FPS, maybe 5, not much more, and you definately will want the best value/money, to which the i5 holds.

video editing benefits from the extra hyperthreading on the i7, gaming not so much. when you factor in value, the i5 is the clear winner.
