Hello,
I am building my first gaming pc on a £700 budget.
I want to play upcoming games like GTA V, Battlefield: Hardline, AC: Unity, DayZ at max settings with smooth fps. Would this single GTX 970 do what I want ? Because I am new to PC universe I see people saying to buy 2 of them but simply I can't afford two, so I am really lost right now.

Here is my build http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/akadea4/saved/RLzXsY please don't hesitate to improve it if you see that something isn't right. Thank you.

More about : single gtx 970

Yes it would for a 1080p setup. I'll check out your build and recommend any improvements that I see fit.

A Single 970 would suffice for maxing out any title with comfortable 50+ FPS right now. Also, include a SSD there, we can also get in H97 MoBo and avoid EVGA cards for 900 series, ACX 2.0 is fine but MSI is just better, while being cheaper:

What monitor are you using?

Only issue I see is that low end motherboard. Yuck. Can you drop down to the 4670K and using the ~£30 you haven't used step up to something better?

Your build looks great, I assume you don't plan on overclocking. The 970 is a grand card in terms of price to performance. It will do the job, but perhaps some games will have to be lowered to ensure the best frame rate. Those who are purchasing 2 are setting themselves up for an SLI configuration which will significantly improve performance. Later on, you could do the same thing if your motherboard supports it.

Thank you so much for taking time to help me out,
I have little knowledge of overclocking and how to do it. Well I understand that it increases the clock at which the gpu is running making better performance, but I dont know what other parts I would need to get at same price point to be able to overclock in the future. And Is there any motherboard at same price range as mine that would allow me to make SLI configuration in the future ?

Thanks for taking your time and improving my build, I feel way more safe when a proffesional does it.
Also do I require some sort of cooling system to add or the case and parts have enough on them ?

The cooling is enough, no need to unnecessarily increase costs for a couple degrees difference on a locked CPU and a very cool GPU.

If you would care to overclock, here is a build I conjured for you. It sacrifices the SSD for the ability to overclock. If you don't have an interest in overclocking, definitely go the build that MeteorsRaining suggested.

Also for CPU what do you think about AMD FX-6300 http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-fd6300wmhkbox
It looks cheaper and better because of the extra 2 cores and it is overclockable.
Would it make a huge difference ?

No, an i5 is better. If you want to overclock, just get a 4690K instead of the 4690.

What if I was just to overclock the gpu, do I also need an overclockable cpu aswell or I can have a standard ? And does only overclocked gpu require extra cooling system ?

No, there's no compulsion to go with OCable CPU if you want to OC GPU. And no the MSI TF are great coolers, and provide fine cooling for serious OCing.
