Hi,

I got a i3-2120 on a Gigabyte (GA-Z77M-D3H) with 2X AMD Radeon 7770 in crossfire.

My question is if I upgrade the GPU to a R9 285 will the CPU bottleneck the video card?

Should I go with a CPU and motherboard upgarde (like AMD 860k + a88 mobo or i3-4140 + z97 mobo) prior to the video card upgrade?

Regards,

You dont need to upgrade the motherboard, your board will handle a i5-3570k or to save a little money a i5-3470. Both of those will last for quite a few more years.

all long as you wont be playing any cpu intensive games such as crysis or battlefield 4, you should be fine upgrading to a r9 285 :)
