Recently my graphics card got spoiled , and I thought of getting a new one but i didn't know which to buy or how should i choose. I'm very new to all of this so any help is appreciated. Below are some of the specs of my computer:

6GB RAM
DPS-600WB A ( I'm not too sure how to check the PSU watts)
Intel Core i7-2600
GTX 550 Ti
Heres a link to it: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en...

I usually play games like BF3 , BF4 and some steam games. I am looking for a graphics card that allows me to play BF4 on medium / high. My budget is about $300. Thanks for the help.

A R9 285 would be a good compliment to the build, and would allow you to play the games on ultra with decent FPS. Also, the PSU has 4 12V lines:
+12Va 16A
+12Vb 18A
+12Vc 12A
+12Vd 10A
So it'd suffice wattage wise, which should be around 36-40A.

Prebuilt computer usually have weak power supplies, cramped cases and poor airflow. I believe a GTX 750 or GTX 750 Ti would almost be guaranteed to fit the bill. The 750 Ti will give 2x the performance of a 550 Ti

Would my CPU bottleneck my GPU if I were to get GTX 750 Ti for example?

Just to anwser your question, the Asus R9270X-DC2-2GD5 is a great graphics card, which is powerfull, yet cheap, and the power consumption is really low.
Check it out, you wont regret it. Oh and, you can play 1080p Battlefield 4 on Ultra pretty much constant 50 fps, so yeah, its actually 210 euros on a site i buy my components off, so yeah, great card.

The Intel i7-2600 is an excellent CPU. It will not bottleneck any card under $300.00. Guaranteed.

This a GPU thread, not a CPU one.

The CPU won't bottleneck ANY GPU on the market, not even dual or tri GPU setups. And I'd still go for R9 285, low power consumption than 280X and great performance for price.

Oh and do I need to do anything with the airflow ?

like what other have said, that PSU is quite suspect. if it's possible look into upgrading that first then you move up to a gtx970.
