hello, so after inspecting the smell in my computer i realized it was coming from the psu(500w unbranded),so i decided to replace it with a Corsair CX 600w. since i started using that, it also had a type of burning smell coming from it, so once again i replaced that one too with a EVGA 600b 600w. still the smell came from that psu as well. i don't know why my pc keeps burning the psu's i use. i know it's coming from them because the smell is literally being blown out of them. btw I've had each one for more then a month so i doubt this is the new smell you get from psu's.

Optical Drive 24x DVD/CD Rewriter

EVGA 600B 600w

The CX600 and 500B are budget PSU 's but shouldn't all be burning up.

Might be something else causing it.

It's just new electronic smell. Don't worry though, its' only known to cause cancer in California.

i have been using a surge protector though so i don't see why this would happen.

I doubt the power supplies are causing the smell , I have 4 computers and none suffer power supply new odor.

All 3 PSU's shouldn't smell unless you had the worst luck ever.
