I recently bought two new AOC I2269vwm screens and afeter pluggin them in there's something wrong with the screen size. The resolution is correct (1920x1080) as is the aspect ratio. HOWEVER my computer seems to think these screens are smaller than they are resulting in a black border between the window and my bezel. I've used other screens with my computer before and never seen this before, all I know is that it must be a problem with my new screens. I've installed the driver software. When I use my Displayport-hdmi adapter then the picture becomes full screen. However since I am forced to keep the other screen connected by hdmi alone then one is always too small. When booting up my computer the bios and "starting windows" screen both display in the correct size but as soon as the log in screen appears it shrinks again. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

What type of GPU do you have? You are looking for the managing desktop size/screen size and then a sub-heading for display scaling. I've got a similar problem but the offending display output was too large.

You might also check the signal detection mode if one exists, usually the display will have 'auto, fill, by signal' etc for how it interprets the incoming signal resolution.

I'm using an AMD radeon 7900 . Is this fixable through CCC?

I tried GPU scaling and sadly this did not work. However when I tried scaling it down to 1680 x 1050 without GPU scaling enabled the window does fill the screen. But obviously this isn't ideal as this isn't the quality I paid for.

Any other ideas?

Next thing I would try is the 'frame size' adjustment on the screen. AOC doesn't have an english manual for that monitor available on their site, so I looked at a manual for a screen in the same model number grouping.

Under the on-screen menu options, you are looking for 'picture boost' which looks like a small rectangle set inside a large rectangle. From there it looks like you have an option for 'frame size'. I'd try changing the values on that next.

I've already given that a shot. Annoyingly the frame size refers to the brightness frame which just increases how bright the current picture on screen is, not altering the actual picture.

I'm going to contact the manufacturer and possibly have to arrange a return.

So both screens will not display the full panel image when hooked up to the hdmi? It's not just one screen that won't work correctly?

Good call on getting hold of their tech support.

No it's definitely a problem with the model of screen since both of them do it.

I agree with you. I know there are restrictions on number of monitors on certain connections when there are 3+, but not with 2 monitors, especially on such a new GPU.

No problem, sorry I couldn't come up with a solution. I wouldn't give up yet though, we might be missing something. What are you using them for primarily?
I've had good luck with Asus, Dell and LG panels. Using them primarily for drafting, 3d modeling and photo editing so I can't comment on their gaming qualities.

Primarily gaming. So I'm looking for a thin bezel. I already have a 21.5 inch screen so anything i buy to surround it has to be the same size. My middle one is an acer which has excellent picture quality, brightness and is lasting well so far. The issue is that it doesn't have a VESA mount on the back so I can't just buy another two of it.

I just connected one screen to my laptop which runs windows 8 instead of 7 and the screen worked perfectly. I have to assume the screens are not fully compatible with win7.

Have you checked out the BenQ monitors? If it ends up being that you need to return the screens, I've read some good reviews on Toms about some of their gaming monitors.

That's helpful. I was looking at BenQs before I bought these and decided to go with a better known brand. If my computer was running win8 that would have been a good decision because fom what i can see, these screens are actually very good but with one serious flaw. If I can find a BenQ with a thin bezel I'll probably buy that once i get these returned.
