Hello, I'm setting up a animation training center. In my lab I expect to support 10-12 students at a time. I need guidance how to do this economically. Should I go for individual desktops or is it possible to have one very powerful server that could support 10-12 nodes? Please give me your best suggestion. Appreciate your help.

No problem:)
If you're going to buy one server for twelve computers, sure, that's a great idea. Make sure you make the twelve computers boot off the server by PXE, though.
Or, if you want to save a bit of money, you could get a NAS like I said before. They cost about 300-500$, the price of an average mid-range computer while HP Proliant servers usually go for higher than that.

You can have 12 desktops and 1 NAS (network-attached storage), connect the computers to the NAS and boot off of it by PXE. You'll save money by not getting 12 individual HDDs.
