Hi,

I recently bought a new monitor (MX239) and I am experiencing bad screen tearing when browsing on the web or using my computer in general. Is there a fix to my problem or do I have to buy a 144 hz Monitor ?

Thanks

There should be no screen tearing at all on the desktop or with other general use. You either have a defective card or monitor. Can you try the monitor with a different card, or the integrated video?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I tried my integrated gpu and I had the same outcome (screen tearing) as with my GPU but it kind of seemed worse. However the screen tearing doesn't happen in games like Fifa 15 (I think because it locks your FPS) but other games like Shadow of Mordor do have screen tearing every now and then. Also, I get screen tearing when scrolling up and down a site, for example on Tom's Hardware I can sometimes see screen tearing when scrolling down and that's a shame because my 5 year old Monitor doesn't screen tear at all.

Thanks

Not being there to see it first hand, my initial thought is the monitor is defective. Have you got it running at 75 Hz in Windows? Did Win locate a specific Asus MX239H driver for it,or is it using its generic driver?

The monitor is running at 60 hz and I haven't downloaded any drivers for it - so yes it is using its generic drivers.

Thanks

Have you run Windows Updates recently? Set it to show recommended updates as well. It finds a driver specifically for my 27" AOC LED display. Yours might need a specific driver too for best results.

Sorry for my late reply. I just went on Windows update and it doesn't have any updates for my monitor.

Ok, so I returned the monitor. Is there anyone who could recommend me a good monitor around the £200 mark ?
