I kind of agree. 2560x1440 or 4K IPS for content creation.

i7 isn't strictly necessary, but well within budget. List of recommended GPUs for 3DS Max and Maya appears to be anything from the Fermi and Kepler family from Nvidia, hopefully it will work with Maxwell, if not a GTX770 4GB would be a good alternative to the GTX970.

Realistically you wont NEED a 4K monitor.. it would be beneficial to have but not a necessity! However you may be able to squeeze one in at the upper end of your budget!

In terms specs, for £1k, i'd be looking at nothing below an i7, 16GB Ram, SSD/HDD combo, and a fairly solid graphics card!

Have you ever considered building one yourself? One thing to consider is you may be able to get windows (and other software) for free via your university. If not, you can certainly pick up cheap software from Microsoft as a student!

This would be good with more than 230 euros for a monitor:

An i7 isn't necessary though, neither is 16GB RAM...

Better to have it now rather then find out that your computer can't render something the day before it is due because of a lack of memory or that it would take too long.
