Hi all,

So I'm deciding should I buy a PS4 or the PC I have listed here:

CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K
Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO
GPU: (MSI) Nvidia GTX 750 TI OC @ 1059Mhz
MB: ASRock Z97 Pro3
RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix sport 1600Mhz CL9
HDD: 250+750GB Seagate Barracuda SATA3 7200RPM
PSU: XFX PRO 550W Core Edition
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

That's the build, I'm nearly sure it will beat a PS4, but want a few other voices to guide me.

I prefer Pc gaming, but I have a lot of friends who play the PS4 over PC, that's why I'm considering.

What do you think?
All answers are appreciated,

Thanks! :)

Yep it will beat a PS4. It will be able to play games at 1920x1080 unlike the PS4. ;)

Why such a high end cpu and low end gpu? I would up the GPU and get a cheaper CPU then it will be leagues ahead of a ps4

Resolution is not the only thing to take into consideration. I am not fully sure how the GTX 750Ti compares to the PS4 GPU but I would assume it is slightly better. Pretty much, a $400 build with an OS is probably not going to beat a PS4, but once you start spending $500-600 on a build it will definitely beat the PS4.

instead of that try to either find a GTX 760 maybe even 960, or a r9 270x.

You see, I already bought the 750ti in February and yes, it's low power, but I can't afford to upgrade to a better one at this present moment. Plus, I can do a bit of Oc'ing on it to give it a bit extra life

Comparing a console to a PC is like comparing a microwave to an oven. Yes, they both cook food, but the oven does it so much better (the oven being the PC).

The PS4 (and XBox) use what is essentially an APU, meaning that the CPU and GPU are on the same chip. In the PC world, this is what AMD offer with the 'A' series.

Games can run well on consoles for years because developers work within very specific hardware limitations, so they can get the maximum performance possible. PCs come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, so games are harder to develop. Remember, a game is just a piece of software, and software only runs as well as its coding.

The GTX 750 Ti may be entry-level, but it's still a perfectly capable GPU at 1080p. You may just have to turn off some advanced features, such as AA, ambient occlusion, etc. depending on the game.

Does your PC beat a PS4? Yes, absolutely. In terms of raw power, it kicks the PS4 in the teeth and runs off with its wallet.
