my old systems mobo(asus m2a vm hdmi, 4gb ddr2,1tb hdd, asus en8600gt 256mb,400w psu) died.instead of fixing it i want to building new system temporary reusing hdd, gpu, psu. im limited on budget to £300-£330, but in time will have more money to invest into it. I will use system for programming and gaming.I am thinking about Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 + AMD FX8350 Black Edition 8 Core Processor + 1 stick of 8gb 1600 ram for now. in later time i will add ssd, psu, gpu, 3x8gb ram.

Questions: Is this way of building system fine? is ram speed good or should i go for faster ones? what brand ram would you recomend? Will old psu have enough power for now before upgrading gpu?

I'd get 8320 with Sabertooth or ASRock 990fx Extreme 4. And I'd get 1866 1.5v cl9 ram eg GSkill Ares. I'd also get a Coolermaster Hyper 212 evo CPU cooler.

PSU needs to be good quality and capable of powering whatever GPU you decide on. It should be OK till you get a new GPU

looking at the prices i am now thinking should i go with 2x4gb instead of 1x8gb and add 2x8gb instead of 3x8gb later? because im not sure that i will need that 32gb ram in near future, and dual chanel ram will work slightly better for time being?

also in the future should i look for nvidia gpu and try sli with my current slow gpu or will same price range radeon work better with my system?

Thank you, for the answers. I ended up with Asus Sabertooth R2.0, AMD FX8350 Black Edition and 1xCrucial Ballistix 8GB 1866mhz. I am using a lot usb ports. external audio card, dj mixing controler, midi keyboard, graphics card has second monitor conected, and lately i noticed than when i plug something in to the same cable extension as the pc sometimes some of the usb peripherals stops working, some times it just hapens when i turn on light in the room on or of. i guess my 430w psu is having trouble? its old and some dodgy company. so now i am looking at some new case and psu. perfectly i would like to fit into £100. i do not look for anything with fancy leds. i want efficient quiet solution with enough space inside and options for upgrade in future. I also think about instaling water cooling in the future so that should be held in mind. what would be your solutions guys?
