Im going from dual GTX 480's to either GTX 760, GTX 780 or the GTX 780 Ti. I will be getting one card for now but will want to get 2 or maybe 3 cards in the coming months as I like running 3 monitors.

Should I get a different card other than the 780s knowing i'm going to run 3 cards in a few months?
If I run 2 or 3 cards I'm not sure if I need the 780, maybe just 3 660's?

More about : moving gtx 480

The ASUS GTX 780 is sitting at about $300 at the moment, so if your budget is hard at the moment, that MIGHT be your better option. However, if but not for much more price wise, you walk out with a widely superior graphics solution with the 970

A single 970 will provide excellent performance for a 3 monitor system.

Any suggestion on what 970 or 980 to get? Also should I consider a Radeon..?

I like the MSI Twin Frozr obviously for the 970. Also, a good alternative to the 970 at a decreased performance rate is still the 280X. While it was able to trade blows with the GTX 770, it's price point has come down in response to the 970's release, making it still a viable budget conscious option in that performance tier
