Scan to Network Folder not working

Hello,

I'm an IT officer and I am stumped on this issue. A few days back we changed some GPO settings to hardened network security. Unfortunately that left some core processes left completely unusable. We reverted many workstations with system restore. I couldn't find what was changed in the registry so I just did quickest thing to resolve it.

Here's the kicker. We have multiple Copy Machines with Scan to Network folder functionality. Most workstations can no longer scan to network folder. These are just folders each workstation has for each user to scan their papers onto their workstations.

My workstation had the same issue but I have been able to get it up and running. I've done multiple possible solutions, but I have no idea which one made it work. I've tried the same process on a workstation where scan to network is not working, and it's a no-go.

Steps I took:

- Reboot
- Disable Firewall
- add specific ip address to exceptions list
- gpupdate
- changed network settings from default to Enable NETBios
- regedit (specifically the lsa registry lanmanworkstation parameters)
- SMB Inbound rules (this was not set on the client, I applied the rule to allow inbound connections but still nothing)

If a user's workstation's scan to network folder doesn't work, it doesn't work from any of the copy machines. I get a server time-out error from Brother printers and a "Selected servers are not found" error from our Sharp copy machines.

The only contingency in place I have at the moment was make department folders on one of our servers and have each department scan to it (which works) and have them move the files they scanned onto their workstations (so they don't mix each others' scans up)

We have main copy machines Sharp MX-623N and Brother MFC-8950's. I know it's not the copy machines, but I guess any detail wouldn't hurt. I have a nagging feeling it's a specific setting that didn't get pushed to each workstation but for the life of me I can't figure it out.
