I have custom built a computer yesterday and purchased the windows 8 download. I did not buy an optical disk drive because i download everything digitally. i regret this now because of how difficult this is becoming but thats neither here nor there. my problem is getting the windows 8 download to boot into my computer. my question is this:

Do i have to run the setup file of windows 8 setup exe. file in order to get the windows 8 iso file so that i can put it on my flash drive to download into my computer? if you know anything that will help me get windows 8 into an iso file please help. I have already downloaded the windows 7 iso downloader that will make my flash drive bootable and everything but i dont have an iso file for windows setup.
Please help me if possible im very frustrated and have been trying everything

If you have a ISO file, you will first need a USB drive formatted as NFTS.
Next up is to open up the ISO file with a program to extract it's content onto the USB drive.
Once that's done. You'll need to plug it into your new computer and then start it up. Go into the Boot menu and select your USB drive.

So what format is this windows 8 download in? Is it a DVD that comes in the mail, or ISO or exe file or what?

When I download OS's from my MSDN account, they are delivered in .iso

The CD/DVD/ digital OS he bought should have a .wim file in the Source directory, I believe but getting a .wim to install is a bit more juggling.
