It will, but if you haven't already bought the 780, the gtx 970 or 980 are far better options.

yup 780 is better than 280/ 280x/290
970/980 is better than 780 but it didnt make the 780 worse.
as time goes by videocard is getting better and better. maxwell cards are the best today in comes on overall.
there are a lot of improvements on maxwells card

If you can get a 780 for a smashing price then go for it as they are still beastly cards. However, if you are going to spend around the same amount for a 780 when compared to a 970, get a 970. Lower power consumption, more overclocking headroom, and higher performance when OCd.

However, to answer your question, a 4590 should not hinder a 780s performance.

If you already have the 4590, then pairing up the 780 or the 970 with it will give you a good pair. If you are looking into buying the 4590, consider the 4690k, which will give you OC capabilities if ever needed; and the cost difference isn't too terrible. The maximum performance you will need for gaming is going to be around the 4590, or stock 4690k speeds. The 4690k will simply give you room for when games become more CPU intensive (if/when they do).

It's not. I'm talking about the gtx 970 or 980. As in the new nvidia cards which replaced the phased out gtx 780. :)
