AI Suite 3 Incorrect CPU Temp

I am trying to set up a fan control profile with AI Suite 3 on my ASUS Maximus Vi Hero motherboard. My CPU is rocketing all the way up to 65C, but in the program its only reading 35-42. The temp that it is giving me does not correlate at all to the temps that are actually going on in the CPU. I really want to use this program to control my fans but if I cant get it to report something anywhere near the truth that will be impossible.

Everytime I start up a burn in utility like Prime95 the temp goes from the 30s to 50s, then it goes back down to the 30s again. The fans kick up for a few seconds then go silent. Obviously the CPU is blasting full force so its actually up there in the 65s. Yes I did do this with no other monitoring programs active, I just tried it after with HWMonitor running to verify the CPU was getting hot.

The reason for it is that it has sensors in different places or something like that.

Make sure you use 4 pin fans and not 2 or 3 pins fans. Those fans do not have ability to receive information. You need PWM fans. Also 3 pins fans do change speed some how, but it is not what it intended in the AI suit.

Haswell CPUs do run hot. Also make sure you properly sited the fan.

The fan controls are perfect even though they are all 3 pin. I set the curve up and I can put them all the way down to 27% if I like. Just need to set the fan header to advanced in the BIOS to allow for fan control on them. The issue is that the temp reading is completely off.

Yeah, they are off. But who cares? Just adjust for the difference. Mine are may be 10 degree off. But then again- I do not do anything that would heat the processor. It stays at 53C per BIOS, 37-40 per AI.

Where are the fan header to advanced settings?

Who cares?

Idle -
CoreTemp = 30c
AI Suite = 30-40c
Load -
CoreTemp = 65c
AI Suite= 30-40c

Its useless if the temps dont reflect the real temps at all. I cant use it for setting a fan curve if it doesnt go up when the cpu gets hotter.

This is also the only fan control program that can detect my fans as well so I dont really have a choice in the matter. I gotta fix this or have my fans run at 60% on load because thats the minimum for 3 pin fans in the BIOS.

It has auto tune function. Run it and it will auto-adjust each individual fan. You do not need to do it manually. Also you can set your CPU fan to Max if you worry. Other fans have nothing to do with CPU temperature.

Im sorry you dont seem to be understanding the issue here. The fan control works 100% fine. Its not getting an accurate temp reading is the issue. When I do what you just said it sets all the fans at the same RPM 100% of the time, because the CPU temp never changes.

When I start Prime95 all the fans rocket up to like 75% as is acceptable of the fan curve, but without me disabling the burn in the temp that AI Suite is receiving goes back to the idle temp after a few seconds and the fans hit the minimum again. The real temps then start getting much higher than they could potentially be if the sensor was getting the true reading.
