I was doing my normal computer activities (youtube, facebook and twitter, WoW running in the background), typical stuff, when my computer crashed. I turned it back on to find my screen looking like this:

I have random lines all over, even in bios. Most of the time I can't get anything excluding a blank screen when not in safe mode. If I go into device manager while in safe mode and uninstall the drivers that way then I can boot into normal windows, but on a restart after that I have to go into safe mode again to repeat the above process. Also, the device manager lists my graphics card as a "standard VGA graphics adapter", instead of listing it as a 7800 series card. <-- not sure if that's the way it is supposed to be listed but I assume so.

*I have even done a clean install of windows and tried to install a shiny new driver, the drivers either refuse to install or refuse to run at all if they do install*

When my pc crashed, my motherboard was acting wonky, four dead usb ports out of 6 and only after the fresh windows install has that corrected itself, so my motherboard is no longer having issues as far as I can tell.

I will list further details as I remember them, is my graphics card dying?

Some pc specs:
MSI gaming g45 motherboard.
intel core i5-4670k.
powercolor 7870 GHz edition, vortex ii cooler.
8 GB g.skill ripjaws ram, 1600mhz.
600w OCZ modular power supply that I can't remember the name of currently.
