both of them (one from the case, and the other on motherboard) doesn't work anymore. it was yesterday although not perfectly.i can see there is one mention of USB 3.0 under USB controllers in Device Manager. If you need pictures from Boot Menu, let me know (not sure if that is relevant or not)

UPDATE 1: there are 2 USB 3.0 port on motherboard and one on the case as explained earlier but here's more details. one of the USB 3.0 on the motherboard doesn't work for 3.0 HDD but does for 2.0 HDD. the USB 3.0 on the case, too, doesn't work for USB 3.0 HDD but does for 2.0 HDD

try reinstalling the usb3.0 drivers. find out which ones you use (motherboard manual) and get the latest versions online.

i guess you are running windows 8.1. It has native usb3 support and is known to have issues.

Here's a walkthrough to fix it.

i didn't do anything and they're now working. it's weird. i wonder how long it will take before they decide they're going to mess with me and not work again
