It's a $20 difference. Should I buy the more expensive one or no?

The more expensive G1 is one of the best 970's on the market.

The more expensive one has a higher core base clock and boost clock resulting in more performance. The more expensive one is probably also cherry picked for the best overclocking potential. I'd get the more expensive for that extra cherry pickedness. They will both run cool and quieter and I've heard really good things about the G1 Gaming card. I'm not sure if the cooler is identical but nonetheless great cards.

The main difference is the g1 gaming (more epensive one) has a backplate while the other doesnt. Also it comes clocked at lower speeds, although you can easily oveclock it higher.

For me the backplate is worth it, but if you don't care about that just go for the cheaper one as Im sure it will overclock very close to the other one.
