I added a 250gb sata drive using the onboard sata controller, and have lost connection to another IDE drive.
My system has 2 IDE controllers as well as 2 sata ports.
1 sata port has a dvd burner attatched, 2nd sata is a 250gb drive.
My 2 ide ports have on primary 2 drives, and the second has another drive.
It's the second one that can't be accessed.
Connections checked, and all is well, just my pc won't 'see' the secondary IDE drive.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
BTW, pc is an HP SFF mobo ported into an ATX case. Home-assembled, and I have been doing this sort of thing since the old 386 days. Anybody remember DOS 6.22? ;)  Ahh, the memories getting even a cd-rom to work with mscdex....IU digress
What I want to know, aprt from the obvious of why I can't see it, is there some kind of motherboard limitation I'm crossing, or is it something I'm just not getting?

Forgot to mention; still using XP eww I know, but it gets the job done. This an undocumented limit on the system? 4 drives, 3 IDE, 1 sata, plus sata dvd burner on second sata port
