Hi guys;

Got a case that has a PSU integrated, and I would like to use it to power my new GTX770 from Asus.

Problem is: the PSU has only 1 6 pin connector; while the card require an 8 and a 6 pin connector (last time that I updated my video card; there was barely a 6 pin connector...).

I have purchased a 6 to 6+2 adapter; which will fill the issue with the 8 pin connector, but I have no more 6 pin; so can I just put together 2 molex from different lines; and use an adapter to power the 6 pin?

The case that I have is this:

From what I understand, I need both the 6 and 8 connectors to power the board, since the PCI-E port supply at most 75W (and I have no clue of how much power the Asus card sucks at regular regime and under heavy load).

I will most likely need a new power supply (altho the issue is that I need a PSU that is shorter than the average ATX size, because the card is so long that just hit the PSU...had to modify the case just to put the video card in...lesson learned); but to start with; I would like at least to use the computer.

So can I just put together 2 molex 4 pin and power the 6 pin plug, while my 6 pin plug power the 8 pin?

Thanks in advance...I am not putting together a new system since ages :)  Lost the touch

and yes you can use molex's to do the job. you just need an adapter. very cheap. and the 770 will likely come with one. all my EVGA card came with tons on adapters, never got an ASUS card tho.

Thanks :)

The card came with a 2x6 pin into a 8 pin connector, which is weird.
I have attached the card with a 6 to 8 pin and with a molex to 6 pin; so far I see both green lights on the card, which is a good sign.

This one had no adapters; just the 2x6->1x8 connector and the driver disk.
