Hy guys , another problem. My mother bougth a Soy Vai Laptop model SVF152C29X , and it came whit Win 8.1 Single ( series? version? ) , well , this version don´t give the rigth to downgrade to Win 7 , just the Win 8 Pro.The problem is that she´s going crazy and wants Win 7 back.Until now it looks easy , but theres the matter , I could deal whit the new BIOS SETUP , UEFI or Legacy choice , do the CD as prymary slave and than put the Win 7 DVD there.
Ok , I thought I was simple , 7 would overwrite 8 and done.Wrong , it reads the DVD , give the Install choice , the kind of it ( I choose " advanced") and then shows a screen whit the HD 6 ( SIX) partitions and ask me where would I like to install. There´s a partition whit 622 GB ( the HD is 750 GB) , so I choose that and cames a message like : " this partition is reserved for de OEM ". And is impossible to format or do do any other thing.
What can I do? Already spoked whit Microsoft and Sony " Supports" and there´s no anwers!!!
Thanks in advance and forgive me for the terrible english.

1. Create a Bootable USB flash drive.
http://rufus.akeo.ie/ will do it for you

Add the following

A Partition program these two work fine but many others will do as well.

MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition 7.0 http://partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html
EASEUS Partition Master (Home Edition) http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm

Press F12 to access the boot menu, Just tap the key until it comes up while your booting. Boot to USB Drive and run the partition program. Delete all Partitions it should allow you to do so since your not in a windows environment. From this point you should be able to boot off the Win 7 DvD.

Thanks for the quick response , before I do that I must ask you about the problem that I could loose the Win 8 and have no mídia , since is an OEM.I went to US Sony Support Site and saw costumers complaining that them lost the OEM and was unable to recovery it , some of them said that couln´t recover and had the serial nunber!!They are really sad whit Sony , talking hard whit the guys.
Let me bore you whit one more question : if I format the partitions could loose the drivers too? Cause if I loose how the PC will recognize my USB flash drive?
Sorry about lot´s of questions , it really is driving me crazy.

Cheers.

Yes, I have had to fix the same issue you explained before, OEM Windblows with no media and fragged up partitions. The best way to deal with it is to install Windows 7 fresh after removing all the messed up partitions. You will not hurt the drive just by deleting partitions and you will still be able to access a USB stick as this has to do with your BIOS.

Part of learning is asking how things work. :p  Good luck and welcome to the "I hate Winblows 8" club.
